Burgers, Blackouts & Bliss: A Day in My Life

They say change is good, and today, I embraced it starting with something as simple as burgers and chips for the first time in forever. Not exactly groundbreaking, but hey, sometimes the smallest shifts break the monotony. Between bites of greasy satisfaction, reality hit......final presentations are looming and Friday is coming faster than my nerves would like. Practicing is in full swing, yet a part of me longs to indulge in something I haven’t touched in a while my passion. Writing. Creating. Letting words flow the way they used to.

But before I could sink too deep into nostalgia, Botswana reminded me of its ever-so-unpredictable ways. Load shedding. One moment, I’m basking in the afterglow of my meal, and the next, I’m plunged into an unsolicited digital detox. Perfect. If there’s one thing I didn’t crave, it was darkness. But what’s life without a little inconvenience, right?

At least yesterday made up for it. A spontaneous day out with my best friend, heavy rain pouring down, the air crisp and refreshing.....pure bliss. Moments like those remind me why I love life’s unpredictability. One day, it’s sunny and structured, the next, it’s chaotic yet beautiful in its own way.

And maybe that’s what I want to get back to writing about these little moments. The mundane, the unexpected, the ones that make you feel something. I miss the therapeutic magic of storytelling, of capturing my days not just for the world, but for myself. Maybe this is the start. Or maybe it’s just a random blog post written under candlelight thanks to load shedding. Either way, here’s to finding my way back.

Ever had one of those days where you feel everything and nothing all at once? Let’s talk.
